I love being a nurse because it allows me to use my compassion for people who are put in my path. It has also allowed me to use my knowledge, skill, and desire to contiuously learn for my patient’s benefit. Learning new things throughout my life is an unquenchable passion. I hope all nurses get to experience the same love and passion for their profession. You may not get many thank yous, but a little elderly lady grabbed my checks one day in both of her hands when I helped her to her car and said, “You are so kind dear, thank you.”
