Think Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness – October 2009

Pink RibbonOctober is Breast Cancer awareness month. This is time of year where everyone gets together and raises money for more research.  With advances made in medicine, we have to keep the momentum going and 2009 is no different! There are several organizations with valuable information on testing, prevention, treatment and more importantly, the simple feeling of looking out for one another.

The American Cancer Society  states 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 40,170 deaths so far this year. It’s the most common cancer among women, other than skin cancer in United States. The good news is the death rate is going down, as a result of testing earlier and better treatment options. In the United States, there are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors!

As an apparel company dedicated to the medical profession, we urge everyone to get involved. Wear pink nursing uniforms, or the pink ribbons indicating your awareness and support for our fellow sisters.

CLASC2PRTo show their support for the much needed research, Littman will donate $5.00 to the American Cancer Society from proceeds of their Classic II Stethoscope – style #CLASC2PR!

Featuring a two-sided chest piece, this stethoscope offers high acoustic sensitivity for superior performance. A tunable diaphragm on one side augments the traditional bell function of the opposite side. It also includes soft sealing eartips.

K115HPEKoi will also donate $2.00 from each sale of their Hope print scrub top towards Breast Cancer research. This stylish and supportive mock wrap top features an:

  • adjustable side drawstring,
  • two large front pockets and side slits
  • made with 100% cotton
  • available in sizes XS to 3X

We have several other products to support Breast Cancer awareness, including nursing socks, watches and even a pink ribbon embroidery option for your scrub tops! Let’s not forget our great looking Pink Ribbon print scrubs.

A couple of years ago, we walked at the Susan G. Komen walk for the cure in Miami, and it was a great success!  This year, Uniform Advantage will do its part by participating in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. For more information, visit Susan G Komen for the Cure on what you can do in our fight against Breast Cancer. You can also find an event near you. Together, we can make a difference!

We at, Uniform Advantage would like to thank you for your support this month, and look forward to serving your medical uniform needs today and tomorrow.
