What is your #Scrubmood?

What is your #Scrubmood?

Are you like me and wake up every morning, after you snooze the alarm 3 times…of course, to find out you only have minutes to get ready? Even as the seconds tick by, you can’t help it but just stare at your closet to find something to wear. Deciding what you wear every day is not as easy as it may seem. I’m sure most of you have experienced days where your ensemble is dictated by your mood, how you feel about yourself, or maybe even how you want the world to see you on that particular day.

With scrubs however, color can be the hardest decision. Did you know that at times your subconscious picks for you? Each color can portray a different emotion, reaction, or perception. Knowing the meaning behind these colors can perhaps minimize your morning routine and help alleviate the struggle to find just the right #scrubmood.Scrubmood

No more “oh nos!”, get Tide To Go!

I’m sure I’m not the only one out there, but I seem to always—always—miss my mouth when I’m drinking something.  I don’t know what it is.  Either I don’t close my mouth all the way around the opening of a bottle or I’m that clumsy (it may as well be both).  For some reason though, I decide to spill on myself most often under two circumstance (they often come in pairs):

1.       When I’m wearing white.

2.       When I’m drinking something red.

It’s a conspiracy.  But with the advent of the Tide To Go stick, my mishaps have a quick fix while I’m out and about!  My suggestion? Get a Tide To Go stick and bring it to work because you know those scrubs may get dirty!  Buy two, buy three…bring them everywhere because they work and you will need them.  It’s no wonder they are the #1 Instant Stain Remover (based on consumer purchases).  It’s us consumers who use them and the fact that we keep buying them, means it works.  So for no more “oh nos,” get a Tide To Go!

Scrub-away!

Caring for your New Medical Scrubs

Tired of your scrubs fading and just looking dingy? It may be the type of scrubs you are buying or it may be the style in which you are washing them. To ensure a great fit and long lasting uniform, we recommend that you be selective in the quality of the fabrics as well as the style in which you launder them, so your medical scrubs last as long as possible.

We recommend that you invest your money in some high quality medical uniforms, like UA Scrubs, Butter Soft Scrubs, Landau Scrubs, Cherokee Uniforms, or Dickies Medical Scrubs. Not only are they more comfortable and stylish, but are made with some of the best fabrics in the marketplace today.

Washing your Nursing Uniforms:

Washing with care is the key to long lasting garments, so it is not recommended to use harsh or cheap detergents, because the fabric may not hold up over time. It is best to use a good quality detergent to clean your medical uniforms. It is also recommended to wash them separately from regular laundry to keep the spreading of germs to your non work clothes down to a minimum.

Rinsing your scrubs in cold is recommended to loosen any large deposits of material such as dirt, blood, or anything else that may linger in the wash cycle and make a mess of the water. Once you are finished rinsing, the garments should be then washed in hot water for about 10 minutes or so to kill bacteria as well as micro organisms. After washing, tumble dry your clothes to kill off additional germs.

If your medical uniform has an odor, simply use some vinegar. I would say ¼ to ½ cup is fine. And it is safe for the fabric. You can even use a color brightener or white wash to bring back the brilliance of the fabric, but do not use bleach because products with bleach may damage your fabric over time.

A warning here: High heat in washing and tumble drying will help to sanitize your hospital uniforms, but may also cause fading, shrinkage, and fabric loss over time. Some folks have opted to wash their medical scrubs in cold water and line dry. The choice is up to you and only you can determine what germs you may have come in contact with. Happy washing!

Your comments are important to us, so please let us know of any secrets you have come across to get your medical scrubs clean, bright, and germ free. We look forward to posting your comments.
