If you have a Triangle or Pear shaped body you would see that your hip measurement is larger than bust measurement with a small to average sized waist, and narrower hips compared to your shoulders and torso. To show off your shape use some of these helpful tips and tricks! Let’s show off those hips!

  • Do: Look for dark wide-leg pants, they will slenderizes thighs while creating a longer and slimmer silhouette
  • Do: Opt for boat neck tops under a hip-length jacket, drawing attention to the open neckline broadens the shoulders to offset fuller hips and evens out lower body proportions
  • Don’t: Reach for skinny pants, they won’t create a flattering shape, along with items that are too oversized
  • Try: V-neck, side stretch panel tops, the contouring and vertical seaming will help create a favorable line, paired with boot cut or cargo pocket pants to “balance” overall shape

If you have an Hourglass or Curvy shape you would have a full bust that is equal or very close in measurement to your hips with a narrow waist. To show off…what many of us envy…check out some tips and tricks to take advantage of your shape!

  • Do: Look for high-waist, straight leg pants so the eye is drawn to a thin middle
  • Don’t: Wear shapeless or boxy styles, like baby-doll tunics or over-sized cardigans
  • Try: A  mock wrap top, it creates a diagonal movement across the body to work with your natural curves which is more forgiving and the v-neck flatters curves without overdoing it

o   Do: Stay away from large prints or horizontal stripes on top

o   Do: Lean toward darker colors on top and brighter colors on the bottom

o   Don’t: Go for scrubs with high or boat necklines, puffy or gathered sleeves, and prominent collars or frills, these will exaggerate width

If you are a Rectangle or have a straight shape you probably see yourself with strong, broad shoulders, proportional hips and the lack of a highly defined waist. Show Off your shape by following some quick tips and tricks for your scrub wardrobe:

o Do: Wear a jacket to “break up” the shape and create a more defined waist

o Do: Select styles that cinch at the middle but flare out at the bottom to boost curves, like boot-cut pants which give the impression of all-around shapeliness

o Don’t: Pick anything too flowy or unstructured.

o Try: Ruffles, fluttery sleeves, and ruching help to add volume to bust and shoulders, which subsequently adds definition to the waist

UA Fights Back…with Baked Goods!

This year, Uniform Advantage, as well as other UA Brands, including Wild Mint Shop, Neighborhoodies, & Chef Uniforms, will be participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Event. The event will take place on April 11 @6:30PM to April 12 @9AM!

Relay For Life is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk for ACS, where teams of people camp out at a local school or park and take turns walking around a track or path. Because, cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. At the event we raise funds, celebrate survivors, remember loved ones lost, and learn more about how to fight back against cancer.

Over the course of several weeks, not only will employees at the corporate office sign up to walk during the Relay 4 Life event, we will also host multiple fundraising events to raise money and awareness as we fight back against cancer.

Our first event sure was sweet! It left everyone in the office energized, chatty, and full! You guessed it…a BAKE SALE! Thanks to all the bakers who brought in delightful treats such as almond pound cake, oatmeal cookies, banana nut muffins…etc! We were full throughout the day with plenty of leftovers. So not to forget those that donated, we thank everyone else for helping us get closer to our fundraising goal by indulging in a little or a lot of sweetness!

If you would like to donate on behalf of our UA team and fight back against cancer, please visit our site to learn more. http://main.acsevents.org/goto/UAscrubs
